From the Kia Bendera Hill that was once the hoisting point of the Union Jack to the Gitiriku Valley, Nguirubi is a hiker’s haven.

Irĩma-inĩ Kwa Wanjikū, Karera, Nguirubi, the place where named hills and valleys bear untold stories of Magical Kenya's pre independence history. Its historical treasures are embodied in nineteen hills and valleys.

The rocky terrain is enticing for rock climbing and sky running accompanied by grant gazelles,rock hyrax and wild rabbits . Its virgin trails and scenic views punctuated by a variety of unique bird species are breathtaking. Fiery sunrises and golden sunsets at Nguirubi are nothing short of sacred.

Founder's Bio

Wanjikū Njogu is an affectionate, friendly, tenacious, resilient, and courageous Lady who is enthusiastic about life and living.

She is passionate about using her leadership, negotiation, influence, collaboration, rational and logical thinking skills to positively transform humanity and the environment.

Wanjikū is a certified mental health champion and a certified mental health, recovery, and community inclusion advocate.

She is the advocacy lead at KIMBILIO-space of Sikia Limited where she and her co-founder Cetewayo Mutiso, have co-created a safe space that facilitates public and structured awareness and education on mental health and mental illness, with the aim to support and address mental ill health needs and gaps for the furtherance of mental health.

Wanjikū is a natural environment enthusiast who provides a place of bliss for people to unwind in Mother Nature’s healing hands- Irĩma-inĩ Kwa Wanjikū in Karera, Nguirubi. Wanjikū provides this safe space to individuals and groups for: mental health focused retreats, reconnecting with God, self and earth, art/craft camps, storytelling, song/dance, tree planting and holistic healing activities such as meditation/yoga, hiking, painting, poetry/spoken word, games/play, and shepherding.

Wanjikū enjoys outdoor sports and is involved in various community activities.
